Recently we have been experiencing a problem with SBS 2011 backups which relates to configuring backup destinations where the external USB drives are not accepted and we get the dreaded error “Cannot Configure Backup Schedule”.
After researching this error and the underlying detailed logs we were directed to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2009365 where we employed option 3. This approach has worked consistently for us on all SBS 2011 installation we have experienced this problem.
